In a press release published on 18 January, the European Commission announced the composition of the core group of a coalition on reforming research assessment.
The coalition will bring together research funding organisations, research performing organisations, national/regional assessment authorities or agencies, associations of research funders, of research performers, of researchers, as well as, learned societies and other relevant organisations, all willing and committed to implement reforms to the current research assessment system. The Commission summarises the impetus for the work in a report published on 26 November 2021.
Reforming research careers is high on the agenda for our association, and our association is represented in this core group by our Deputy Secretary General Mattias Björnmalm who can also be contacted for more information.
