The European Commission on 14 April launched a call for participation in #EUvsVirus - a pan-European Hackathon to connect innovators, partners and buyers across Europe to develop innovative solutions to coronavirus.
Today, CESAER is joining this initiative as an official partner to provide our full support.
Rik Van de Walle (President of CESAER and Rector of Ghent University): "Europe and the whole world are living through an unprecedented crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult times, I find solace in seeing so many of you in our communities, at our universities and throughout our association join forces and work together to help keep our families, friends and colleagues safe and healthy. You have my fullest support and admiration.
"The #EUvsVirus challenge led by the European Commission - in partnership with CESAER – aligns with our efforts to mobilise our creativity and ingenuity to help tackle this pandemic. I encourage all of us to contribute to this effort in whichever way we can, from promoting this effort in our social media channels and beyond, to participating in the hackathon whether as a problem solver or as a mentor. Let’s work together."
The #EUvsVirus Hackathon is led by the European Commission, officially endorsed by the Council of the EU as one of the 10 priority actions for research and innovation, and is supported by the European Parliament. A list of all official partners of the initiative is available on euvsvirus.org.
