Orla Feely elected CESAER President 2024-2025

Orla Feely (President of University College Dublin) was today elected as our new President together with three Directors to complement our Board.

We are delighted to announce that Orla Feely was elected as our President for a two-year term from 2024 to 2025. She will take over from Rik Van de Walle (Rector of Ghent University) who will finish his second term as President at the end of 2023. Orla has engaged with our association for many years already and, between 2019 and 2021, she served as our Vice-President and Treasurer.

Orla Feely, President-elect of CESAER and President of University College Dublin stated after her election:

“As President, it will be my goal to continue the evolution of CESAER and further boost our capacity to deliver on key areas: advocacy for the interests of universities of science and technology in Europe, and learning among peer institutions across our membership. I am honored by the trust the Members have expressed in me”

Our thirty-seventh General Assembly also elected three Directors for a four-year term from 2024 to 2027.

Tim Bedford (Associate Principal Research & Knowledge Exchange at University of Strathclyde) and Roberto Zanino (Rector's Delegate for PhD Programs and International University Networks at Politecnico di Torino), were re-elected for a second term.

Katharina Füglister (Director of International Affairs at Ecole Polytéchnique Fédérale de Lausanne) was elected for a first term.
