Our Board has appointed Rik van de Walle (Rector of Ghent University) as our association’s Envoy to the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU until June 2024.

Our Board of Directors has appointed Rik Van de Walle as our association’s Envoy to the upcoming Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU effective immediately and until the end of June 2024.

Rik will advise and support the Board in the lead up to, and for the duration of, the Belgian Presidency.

Rik has been Rector of Ghent University since October 2017. In 2019, he was elected President of CESAER and he was re-elected in 2021 for a second term which completes at the end of this year.
