Since 2020, she has served as the President of our Member, the University of Paris-Saclay. Previously serving as President of Paris-Sud from 2016 to 2018.

Nominated by President Macron after the formation of the new Borne government, Sylvie was appointed on 20 May 2022. The new government follows after a month since Emmanuel Macron was re-elected as President, and one month in advance of legislative elections which will conclude on 19 June.

Sylvie’s ministerial appointment follows recent news that our association’s Board Member Elvira Fortunato had been appointed as Portugal’s Minister for Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education.

The Board extends its warmest congratulations to her and looks forward to continuing working with her in her new position.
