The Secretariat is pleased to announce that Vincent Klein Ikkink has been promoted to Advisor for Research as of 2 April after joining as Junior Advisor for Research a year ago. During his first year in the Secretariat, he has been actively working with the European research sector and our Members, on topics such as research careers, dual-use technology and research security.
Vincent holds a masters’ degree in International Relations in Historical Perspective at the University of Utrecht, and previously worked at the Netherlands house for Education and Research.
“In an increasingly volatile and complex geopolitical landscape, I am deeply committed to helping science and technology universities navigate through the various pressures they face as well as the new opportunities this changing world provides, such as the increasing importance of critical technologies, the challenge of safeguarding research while keeping science open and enhancing Europe’s ability to attract and retain research and innovation talent.”
